Acupuncture

Home/Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine that involves the insertion of fine needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. It is used to promote blood flow and healing, improve mood and energy, reduce pain and inflammation, decrease stress, and maximize body function. It may also be used alongside medical treatment to provide pain relief and supportive care.

Acupuncture is safe and effective for most individuals. No drug or substance is injected into the body; the needles alone are responsible for the beneficial effects. Acupuncture needles vary in length and are usually stainless steel, although they may be gold or silver. Acupuncture needles are normally left in place for 10-30 minutes and the practitioner may manipulate the needles by lifting, twisting or rotating to strengthen or reduce the desired effect.
